Near Wallet is non-custodial. Your keys, your seed phrase, and your transaction signing all happen on your device — not on our servers.
What we do — and don't — collect.
Keys & seed phrase
Stored locally in your browser or desktop app. Encrypted with your passphrase. Never sent to us.
No accounts
There is no email, password or sign-up. Your NEAR account ID is your identity.
No tracking pixels
No Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, no third-party trackers on the wallet itself.
Aggregate logs only
Anonymous request counts to our RPC proxy for uptime — no IP retention, no fingerprinting.
What happens when you use the wallet.
On-device storage
When you create or import an account, the wallet generates an Ed25519 keypair locally. Private keys are encrypted with your passphrase and stored in your browser's IndexedDB (web wallet) or in your OS keystore (desktop apps). They are never transmitted to any Near Wallet server.
Network requests
To read your balance and broadcast transactions, the wallet talks to a NEAR RPC node. By default this is a community RPC operated by Pagoda, but you can switch to your own node in Settings. RPC providers may see your account ID and IP address — same as any blockchain wallet.
Analytics
The marketing site (this site) uses privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics that count page visits without identifying you. The wallet app itself ships with telemetry off by default.
Cookies
The wallet uses one functional cookie to remember your selected language and theme. No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking.
Third parties
When you swap tokens via Ref Finance or stake with a validator, you interact with those contracts directly. We don't proxy or log those calls.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data, GDPR/CCPA data-access and erasure requests have nothing to act on. To delete your wallet, simply remove the browser extension or uninstall the desktop app — and keep your seed phrase backed up.
